Humour & Developers

Humour is an essential part of everyday life. I have never noticed how much of a necessity it was until today. I was sitting in my Drama class with a group of friends working on a radio drama. The end result was a bizarre combination of every genre that we had thought of called, "Western Alien Invasion 3000 Turbo". Characters included "Jimmy" the cactus and "Uncle Albert". As we went through the process of writing the damn thing, we got onto the idea of only referring to Uncle Albert through the Paul McCartney song of the same name. We were laughing our heads off while we were throwing ideas at each other. I would upload what we have already completed, but I'm afraid that the Internet may implode because of the immense funny factor. Writing something like that is like writing a game... I think. I'm not entirely sure when it comes to games development, but I plan to find out. Being a Year 10 student in Australia, I have to find a placement for a week of "Work Experience". I was fortunate enough to get a week at Wicked Witch Software. A company based in Melbourne who handles a lot of the NRL and AFL videogames. I plan to learn more about what it's like to develop games by installing Microsoft's XNA game developing thing. I'm going to fiddle around with that and see what the results are.
